VMK to Re-Open until Halloween? Could it be True?

Wouldn't this truly be the Year of a Million Dreams?

"Just got this from Ridley Pearson, the author of several wonderful books where characters talk to one another inside VMK. The entry is on his website, and is dated today, Friday, May 23, 2008:

"There are rumors circulating about VMK possibly being extended (for long time users) for a few months longer. I can't confirm anything at this time, but keep your fingers crossed."

We now have word from trusted sources who say that VMK will open through October -- but only for those who are already signed up on VMK. So we'll see what happens. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available... Thank you, Ridley, and everyone of you for your support!! Save VMK!!!!"

Sunday, May 25, 2008 False VMK I'm now told by my "insider" that indeed it may be only a rumor (about VMK). Sad, because my "source" of the rumor was another top insider. But alas, I'm afraid VMK is gone. I'm disappointed too.... Ridley

As much as i luv vmk and im praying that it will open again, i dont think it will! Why would they re-open a game that thousands of kids played and loved, then Broke their HEARTS bc they said their closing and then they wanna OPEN AGAIN?! thats just full of HAM to me...:0 plus they sold their company to another company and to re-open, they have to get enough money to buy it back... this subject just gets me SOooo mad. I hope VMK does return. Even today, people are still fighting for the game. I'm sorry, Yavn, and all who closed it down, but this game seemed WAY more than "just a promotion". We got all these new friends! Plus, I heard some people payed over $25.00 at a Disney park for JUST VMK cards! This is not fair! Please help fight to save VMK!

There are way too many rumors going around about vmk. I heard one of vmk opening inoctober, then in 7 months, and I also heard one about it being back in a few years.
My friend even assumed it might be back for another disney anniversary landmark. Like 60th anniversary. Oh, but we'll all be old then, no?

Ok, for all of you to know, YAVN is not the "Owner" or anything of VMK. He is a coder, also known as a programer. He is the head of the development team. He has NO CONTROL OVER WHEN VMK IS OPEN. The CEO of the Disney Company is Bob Iger, and he is the one responsible for VMK's closing. And VMK was not ment to only be open for the 3 years that it lasted, If anyone has been on a Disney Cruise on the Magic,Me and Christian who is the Cruise Director, and said in December of 2007, the VMK developers were on the ship for a private cruise because the ship was going to be put in the game after Epcot was added.

This decision was probebly made because Disney felt that they could make money by taking all the former VMK players and make them pay to play their other games. Disney's stupidity because they lost a lot of people. Bob Iger, I was happy when you got in because you got rid of Eisner, but you have made one BIG mistake.

The faceless coporation that Disney has become makes me sick, I may be only 13, but if a 13 year old notices something screwed up in a company, there is something VERY SCREWED UP!!! My mom was going to take me to Disneyland, but I don't know if I'll go, but if I have to, you'll see me, because I will have a VMK shirt on, and a VMK ball cap. And BTW, Disney, you think you can move us around like a HERD OF CATTLE, just shuffling us from website to website, your wrong, MOST OF US, have gone to VFK, and MOST OF US, including me, would be glad to come back to Disney, if YOU OPENED UP VMK AGAIN!!! I am also going to stop doing anything Disney related, and talk to my friends, and my friends friends, and so on, about boycotting all Diney products, unless they have to do with VMK. That includes, boycotting Disney Channel, Disneyland (Sorry Walt), Disney Stores, Movies, everything, including dare I say it boycotting Mickey Mouse. Disney, you have lost one customer!!!

VMK, was a great game of imagination. I made a clan thing, and you REALLY had to use your imagination. Like saying clam, instead of clan, and there were no swords or anything you just had to say - claws - I laugh when I think of that. But I had real fun on VMK. I met so many friends in the clans and armies. And I KNOW they were virtual and everything, but they were still my friends. VMK was safe too. I don't know if you should boycott Disney or anything, but I do know one thing: Disney will never read this, or any of our complaints or begs. They will move on. They will forget all about this. I mean, even if every VMK player boycotted Disney, it would make no difference. I just know, that I will remember VMK, and all my friends for a very, very long time. And if VMK does reopen, I'll be one of the thousands of people smiling and clicking that green circle PLAY button. We can only hope. Disney makes the choice.

I AM MAD AND SAD DISNEY CLOSED VMK!!! I am trying to make an email to send to them with no subject, and sayint PLEASE read all, showing how sad and upset we are and how much we need it.. I hope VMK will also open back too=), but they closed bc the ppl who owned VMK only had a CONTRACT with disney, and when Toy-Story-Mania came out, disney couldn't keep throwing away thousands of dollars each month to keep VMK still a free website when Disney was paying for VMK's bills, staff, and other things like graphics for the site, so they had to shut down=(

well, obviously vmk didn't re-open at halloween): i doubt it will. i'm done playing disney's games, i'm never going on one again unless vmk opens. i know that they don't care, but 50000 people do. vfk isn't even half a fun as vmk, and i miss my friends on there. they were so amazing! and now.. i havn't talked to them for almost a year and a half. haha in case you guys remember me, my name was Candy_Bars.
